Childers Lawn Care & More
- Effective Date
- Last Updated
Childers Lawn Care LLC (“we,” “us,” or “our”) operates www.childerslawncarellc.com (opens in new tab) (the “Website”). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, protect, and disclose information when you visit the Website, contact us, request a quote or service, or otherwise interact with us.
1. Information We Collect
Information You Provide
We may collect information that you voluntarily provide through the Website, including:
- Your name. This is the only field the form requires.
- Your phone number and email address. At least one of the two is required so that we have a way to reply; you choose which.
- The service address and state for the work you are asking about, if you choose to give them.
- The type of service you are requesting, chosen from a list.
- Any project details you choose to type into the message box.
The form does not accept file or photo uploads, and the Website has no account registration, login, newsletter signup, or payment feature. We do not ask for a password, date of birth, government identification number, or payment card details anywhere on the Website.
Please do not submit sensitive personal information through a general Website form unless we specifically request it through an appropriate secure method.
Information Collected Automatically
When you visit the Website, we or our service providers may automatically collect technical and usage information, such as browser type, device type, operating system, referring page or website, pages viewed, approximate geographic area, date and time of visits, Website interactions, and security or error information.
This information is collected through server logs kept by our hosting provider and through the security service that protects our forms. The Website itself does not set cookies — see section 4.
When you submit a form, the Website also reports how long the form was open before you sent it. This is used only to identify automated submissions, which are typically sent within a fraction of a second. It is a single elapsed-time measurement, it is not linked to your identity, and it is not retained after the submission is processed.
2. How We Use Information
We may use collected information to:
- Respond to questions, messages, quote requests, and service inquiries.
- Evaluate requested lawn care or landscaping work and prepare estimates.
- Communicate about requested or ongoing services.
- Provide customer support.
- Operate, maintain, secure, and improve the Website.
- Diagnose technical problems and keep the Website available, using the server logs described in section 5.
- Prevent spam, fraud, abuse, and security incidents.
- Maintain appropriate business records.
- Comply with legal obligations and protect our rights, property, customers, and users.
3. Contact Forms and Quote Requests
When you submit a contact form, quote request, service request, or similar Website form, we may collect the information you provide. We use that information to respond to your request, communicate with you, evaluate the requested service, prepare an estimate, and maintain appropriate business records.
Form submissions are delivered to us by email. To limit spam and abuse, our server temporarily records a one-way, salted hash of the sending network address so that repeated submissions can be rate limited. The address itself is not stored, and the record is discarded automatically once the limit period has passed.
Website forms are protected by Cloudflare Turnstile, a service that distinguishes people from automated software. When a form loads and when it is submitted, Cloudflare receives your IP address together with technical signals about your browser and device in order to perform that check. Turnstile does not use this information to build advertising profiles. Cloudflare processes it as described in their privacy policy at https://www.cloudflare.com/privacypolicy/ (opens in new tab).
Submitting a form does not by itself create a service contract or guarantee that a project will be accepted or scheduled.
4. Cookies and Similar Technologies
The Website does not set any cookies of its own. It does not use advertising, analytics, or tracking cookies, and there is no cookie banner because there is nothing to consent to.
The Website stores one item in your browser’s local storage, called “childers-contact-last-sent”. It holds a single timestamp recording when you last submitted the contact form, and it exists so the form can tell you how long to wait before sending another message rather than letting you fill one in and have it rejected. It contains no name, contact details, or message content, it is never transmitted to us or to anyone else, and it stays on your device. Clearing your browser’s site data for this Website removes it, and the form continues to work normally without it.
Third-party content embedded on the contact page — the Facebook and Instagram feeds described in section 6 — and the form-security service described in section 3 may set their own cookies or storage under their own policies. Those are not set by us and we cannot read them. Our Cookie Policy describes these technologies in more detail.
5. Analytics
We use two measurement tools, both provided by Vercel Inc., who already host the Website. Vercel Web Analytics counts page views and shows which pages people find useful and where visitors arrive from. Vercel Speed Insights records how quickly pages actually loaded on real visitors' devices, so we can find and fix pages that are slow in practice rather than only in a test.
Neither sets cookies, and neither uses a persistent identifier. Instead of following a person, a one-way hash is created from the incoming request and reset every 24 hours, so the same visitor cannot be recognised from one day to the next, and cannot be recognised on any other website at all. No name, email address, or IP address is stored against a page view, and neither tool can reconstruct a browsing session across pages.
Speed Insights records page timings together with the page address, the referring page, an approximate geographic area, and the device operating system and browser. This is the same category of technical information described in section 1, it is anonymous and aggregated, and it is used only to make the Website faster.
This is why the Website still shows no cookie banner. We chose a measurement tool that does not track people, rather than one that does and then asks permission afterwards.
We do not use Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager, Microsoft Clarity, Hotjar, or any advertising or session-recording service. Website measurement is limited to the page-view counting described above.
Our hosting and security providers generate standard server logs and aggregate request information as part of delivering and protecting the Website. That information is used to keep the Website available and secure and to identify technical problems.
If we change or add to how the Website is measured, we will update this Privacy Policy and our Cookie Policy to describe it, together with any cookies it uses, at or before the time it is introduced.
6. Social Media Links and Features
The Website includes links to our Facebook and Instagram pages, and our contact page embeds content from both services so that recent posts can be viewed without leaving the Website. Those services are operated by Meta Platforms, Inc.
Because that content is embedded rather than merely linked, Meta may receive information about your visit — such as your network address and browser information — when the embed loads, and may set its own cookies through it. This is handled according to Meta’s own privacy policy and terms, which we do not control.
These embeds do not load with the page. Both wait until you scroll down the contact page far enough to reach them, so if you never visit that page, or never scroll to the social section, Meta is not contacted at all. Reaching them does not require a click, however, so scrolling is enough to load them.
Blocking third-party content in your browser, or using an extension that does so, will prevent these embeds from loading. The rest of the Website continues to work normally.
7. How We Share Information
We may disclose information to service providers that assist with Website hosting or delivery, domain and DNS services, Website security, email or form delivery, data storage, customer support, and Website maintenance. These providers may process information as necessary to provide their services.
We may also disclose information to accountants, attorneys, insurers, consultants, subcontractors, or other professional advisers when reasonably necessary; when required by law or lawful process; to protect rights or safety; to investigate fraud, abuse, or security incidents; during a business transfer; or when you direct us to do so or provide consent.
8. Service Providers Used
| Service / Purpose | Provider |
|---|---|
| Website hosting, deployment, content delivery, and server logs | Vercel Inc. |
| Cookieless page-view analytics and page-speed measurement (Vercel Web Analytics and Speed Insights) | Vercel Inc. |
| Bot and spam protection on Website forms (Turnstile) | Cloudflare, Inc. |
| Contact form email delivery (SMTP) | Yahoo (Yahoo Inc.) |
| Facebook and Instagram links and embedded content | Meta Platforms, Inc. |
Apart from the cookieless page-view counting described in section 5, we do not use an advertising network, a customer-relationship or marketing platform, a payment processor, an error-reporting service, a chat widget, an externally hosted font service, or an embedded map or video provider. Any of these would appear in the table above if it were in use.
Each provider processes information under its own privacy policy and terms. This list reflects the Website configuration at the date of this policy and may change as the Website is maintained.
9. Sale or Sharing of Personal Information
We do not sell personal information for money. We do not use the Website for targeted advertising, remarketing, or cross-context behavioral advertising.
Where a page embeds third-party social-media content, that provider may process Website usage information under its own terms. Depending on applicable law, you may have rights concerning certain processing activities.
10. Data Retention
We retain personal information for as long as reasonably necessary to respond to communications, provide requested services, maintain business records, meet accounting, tax, insurance, and legal obligations, resolve disputes, enforce agreements, and protect against fraud, abuse, and security incidents. Retention periods may vary depending on the type of information and the reason it was collected.
Specific retention periods
A completed contact form arrives as an ordinary email in our business mailbox and is kept with our business correspondence, in line with the general position above. We are not able to delete a copy that you have also kept, or one held in your own sent items.
- The rate-limiting record described in section 3 is a one-way hash, never the address itself. It is held only in the memory of the server handling the request, is deleted automatically when the waiting period expires, and does not survive a restart of that server.
- The elapsed-time measurement described in section 1 is used during the submission and then discarded. It is not written to any store.
- The local storage item described in section 4 stays on your device until you clear your browser’s site data. We cannot read or delete it remotely.
- Server logs are kept by our hosting provider for a limited period under its own retention schedule, which we do not set.
11. Information Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards intended to protect information. Depending on the Website and services used, these safeguards may include HTTPS encryption, access controls, Website-security services, spam and bot prevention, software updates, monitoring, and secure third-party providers.
No website, internet transmission, storage system, or security measure can be guaranteed to be completely secure. We cannot guarantee that unauthorized access, loss, misuse, or disclosure will never occur.
12. Privacy Rights and Requests
Depending on applicable law, you may have the right to request information about personal information we maintain about you, correction of inaccurate information, deletion of certain information, a copy of certain information, or limitation of certain uses.
To submit a privacy request, email childerslawncare2@yahoo.com or call (910) 434-2533. We may need to verify your identity before completing a request, and certain information may be retained where permitted or required by law.
13. Children’s Privacy
The Website is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information online from children under 13. If you believe a child has submitted personal information through the Website, contact us using the information below.
14. Sensitive Information
Unless specifically requested through an appropriate secure process, please do not submit Social Security numbers, government identification numbers, financial-account credentials, complete payment-card information, medical or health records, or other highly confidential information through the Website.
15. External Links
The Website may contain links to websites or services operated by third parties, including social-media services. We are not responsible for the privacy, security, content, or practices of third-party websites. Review the privacy policy of each third-party service you choose to visit.
16. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy periodically to reflect changes in our practices, Website technology, service providers, or legal obligations. The revised policy will be posted on the Website with an updated “Last Updated” date.
